1b 3 Self Activity- What we have as ICT tools and what we do with them

At my school, space is very limited and that in itself is a limitation to our use of ICT. However we do make use of the following

• Computers- We have two working computers that connected to a network. One is located in the principal's office and one is located in the classroom that is shared between Grades five and Six classes. They are used by the teachers to prepare documents and by the students to conduct research for their projects.
• Printers and fax machine- the printers are connected to the network so each teacher has access to print materials from their laptops as well as the school computers. The fax machine is used to send communications to various business places especially when seeking donations for instance for graduation.
• Photocopying machine- This is used to copy various documents that are needed for whole school distributions for e.g letters to parents. 
• Projector and Projector screen-  these have been used during instructional lessons to show power point presentations and videos that are related to the subject area being taught. We also use them during activity periods to show movies to the students.
• Mini video  and digital camera- We recently got this item. however it got its first use when three grades went on a field trip. It was used to capture the moment the students had.
• Televison and DVD player- Not in much use now, but was used mainly for the lower grades
• Radio- used by the teacher when teaching the students songs and or dances.
• Telephone- used to communicate with external people in relation to the school. eg. Ministry of Education officials
• .IT mobile bus- this is a mobile bus that is euipped with computers. Thought not in the the school per say, it comes one day a week and the students from Grades 4 to 6 are taught basic IT.
